fluoroelastomer

MAXMOLD® FK2 FKM Pre compound is a medium viscosity, high fluorine (70%), peroxide curable fluoroelastomer. MAXMOLD® FK2 exhibits superior resistance to wide variety chemicals, coupled with excellent process ability and optimum compression set. MAXMOLD® FK2 can be cross-linked using organic peroxides in conjunction with a co-agent.

Some of the basic properties of MAXMOLD® FK2 are:

l  Low post cure

l  Superior mold flow

l  Lack of mold fouling

l  Excellent mold release

l  Good chemical resistance especially in:

Ø   Alcohol containing fuels

Ø   Steam

Ø   Fluids containing amine additives

MAXMOLD® FK2 FKM Pre compound can be used for compression, injection and transfer molding of shaft seals, valve seals, O-rings, gaskets or any item requiring superior chemical resistance.

MAXMOLD® FK2 can be combined with cure system and other typical fluoroelastomer compounding ingredients. Mixing can be accomplished with two-roll mills or internal mixers. Finished goods may be produced by a variety of rubber processing methods. This material can be extruded into hoses or profiles and can be calendered to make sheet stocks or belting.
